Position: Litigation Associate Attorney
Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Bar Admission: Active member in good standing with the Louisiana State Bar

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Litigation Associate Attorney with a minimum of three (3) years of litigation experience to join our Baton Rouge office. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation skills, excellent legal writing abilities, and experience independently managing cases from inception through trial.

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced partners while taking ownership of significant litigation responsibilities and maintaining direct client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and legal memoranda.
• Prepare and respond to written discovery requests.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Attend hearings, mediations, and court appearances.
• Assist with trial preparation and trial proceedings.
• Handle electronic discovery (eDiscovery) and document review using litigation platforms.
• Maintain regular communication with clients and provide meaningful case updates.
• Collaborate with partners and legal teams throughout all phases of litigation.
• Develop and maintain strong client and referral relationships.

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active member in good standing with the Louisiana State Bar.
• Minimum 3 years of civil litigation experience.
• Experience drafting motions, pleadings, and discovery responses.
• Experience taking and defending depositions.
• Ability to independently manage multiple litigation matters.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with electronic discovery (eDiscovery) platforms.
• Trial preparation and courtroom experience.
• Strong client management and relationship-building skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work directly with clients and opposing counsel.
