POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking an Assistant Project Superintendent to support field operations, job site coordination, and project execution for JAC Metal Building Contractors. This role splits time between our Poolville, TX office and active projects across the continental United States, working closely with superintendents, project managers, crews, vendors, and office staff to help keep projects safe, organized, and on schedule.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Field Leadership & Site Oversight
- Support daily job site operations, supervise crews, and help maintain safe, efficient, high-quality work.
- Lead pre-task planning, tailgate meetings, and daily crew briefings.
- Track site progress, share updates, and step in as on-site lead when needed.
Administrative & Documentation
- Complete and submit daily reports, sign-in sheets, logs, and required paperwork on time.
- Prepare and manage JSAs, crew time sheets, and job documentation.
- Keep project files organized and support punch lists, close-out documents, and final reports.
Equipment Coordination, Repairs & Purchasing
- Coordinate tools, equipment, materials, supplies, purchases, and inventory by project phase.
- Inspect equipment and coordinate repairs, replacements, and maintenance as needed.
- Help load and unload materials and keep yard, shop, and storage areas organized.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote and enforce job site safety in line with company policies and OSHA standards.
- Identify hazards, coach safe work practices, and confirm corrective actions are completed.
- Ensure crews use proper PPE, fall protection, ladders, and required safety gear.
Team Management & Communication
- Support a positive, accountable team culture and help resolve daily crew and workflow issues.
- Communicate clearly with crews, the Project Superintendent, project management, and the office team.
- Adapt quickly to mobilizations, schedule changes, shifting priorities, and other assigned duties.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid U.S. work authorization
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel nationwide approximately 80–90% of the time
- Prior experience in construction supervision, field coordination, or a related role is strongly preferred
- Experience in commercial or industrial metal building construction is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage priorities and deadlines
- Comfortable managing JSAs, time sheets, documentation, and digital recordkeeping
- Experience coordinating equipment, purchases, and vendors or suppliers is preferred
- Clear, professional communication skills and the ability to lead crews and work with project teams
- Computer-savvy and comfortable using basic office software, mobile apps, and digital tools
- Able to work in both office and active construction site environments while following all safety requirements
- Highly flexible and dependable; comfortable with frequent changes to travel, locations, and schedules
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus, but not required
