Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor

Jabs Group is growing and we’re looking to add a Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to our team, based in or near New York City.

This role is ideal for a QS or Cost Manager with particularly someone who has worked on high-end retail & hospitality and wants hands-on involvement across the full cost management process - from early estimates through project closeout. Having experience in the NYC market is a must.

This position is remote, but candidates must be based in the New York City area and available to be on-site as needed during construction phases.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

• Pre-contract cost planning aligned with RICS best practices, including elemental cost plans and design-stage estimates 
• Post-contract cost control, including change management, forecasting and commercial reporting 
• Trade takeoffs, bid leveling and subcontractor procurement support 
• Monthly cost reports and cash flow tracking for active construction projects 
• Close collaboration with owners, designers and contractors 
• Preparation of monthly draws
• Vendor financial management 
• Change order negotiations

HIGH-END RETAIL & HOSPITALITY FOCUS:

• Flagship retail projects with elevated architectural and interior design standards 
• Tenant improvement scopes, storefront coordination and landlord work letters 
• High-end finishes, custom millwork, specialty lighting and bespoke detailing 
• Projects requiring precision, coordination and strong cost discipline 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• 3 years of experience in cost management / quantity surveying 
• Experience on high-end retail, flagship stores or hospitality projects 
• Familiarity with RICS methodologies and reporting standards 
• RICS accreditation (MRICS) or actively working toward APC preferred 
• Proficiency in Bluebeam or OST
• Strong Excel skills and comfort managing detailed budgets and estimates 
• Clear communicator comfortable working directly with clients and GCs 
• NYC-based or within commuting distance 

COMPENSATION: $115,000–$175,000 base (Depending on Experience) bonus RICS/APC support
