Implement, maintain, and improve machined part manufacturing processes per customer drawings & specifications. Create in-process CAD/CAM models, work instructions, process flows, NC programs etc… to introduce and manage new product development, as well as improve and optimize existing processes. Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing processes across machining, assembly, and general production operations.
- Create and maintain clear process documentation including routings, work instructions, standard work, and process flow diagrams.
- Analyze engineering drawings, CAD models, and specifications to determine machining/manufacturing strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including quality and production, to improve manufacturability and reduce cycle times.
- Identify and implement opportunities to increase efficiency, reduce scrap, and improve throughput using lean tools and structured problem‑solving.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues, including tooling wear, machine setup, and process deviations.
- Contribute to the design, selection, and improvement of tools, fixtures, and equipment to enhance safety and reliability.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S, standardized work, waste reduction, and workflow optimization.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning by engaging with team members on best practices and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field (equivalent experience will be considered)
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field, preferred
- 2 years of experience in manufacturing/machining process development, preferably in the aerospace industry.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software (e.g., NX, SolidWorks, Mastercam, or similar software), CNC programming, and G-code.
- Understanding of manufacturing fundamentals: process flows, tooling concepts, quality principles, and GD&T.
- Knowledge of inspection tools, gauging, and methods
- Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, and other quality management systems.
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Hands-on experience with CNC machining centers, including setup, and operation.
- Understanding of Mazak controls and Mazatrol
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP)
