Start Date: August 1, 2026
Jabbers Kids is looking for a dependable, energetic, and caring Afternoon Childcare Teacher to join our team beginning August 1, 2026. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working with young children and is looking for a consistent weekday schedule with the opportunity for additional hours.
Our classroom serves children ages 2–5 years in a fun, engaging, play-based environment where building relationships and creating a safe space for children is our top priority.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday
- Approximate hours: 20-25 (3:00 PM–7:00 PM)
- Position begins August 1, 2026
- Additional hours may be available by:
- Covering staff shifts
- Arriving earlier when needed
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage children ages 2–5
- Lead age-appropriate games, activities, crafts, and free play
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom
- Assist children with toileting, handwashing, snacks, and daily routines
- Communicate professionally with parents during pick-up
- Complete closing classroom duties and cleaning checklist
- Work as part of a positive, supportive team

Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Able to pass a criminal background check
- CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain after hire)
- Previous childcare experience preferred but not required
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds and actively engage with children throughout the shift
