Position Summary

The JABA Respite & Enrichment Center (JREC) Manager leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of innovative programs designed to support the health, wellness, and psychosocial needs of older adults and their caregivers. This role ensures a safe, engaging, and person-centered environment that promotes dignity, independence, and a positive daily experience for all participants.

The JREC Manager collaborates closely with caregivers, families, social service agencies, and healthcare professionals to design and implement individualized plans of care. They provide strategic oversight of daily operations, ensuring programs meet the highest standards of quality, effectiveness, and regulatory compliance. The Manager also evaluates program outcomes, identifies opportunities for growth, and drives enhancements to expand services and better meet the evolving needs of the community

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management: Plan and implement the daily and long-term activities of the JREC program. Ensures that activities, snacks and meals meet the needs of individual members. Coordinate community and program outreach. Annually review outcome measures. Evaluate services for improvements based on feedback and performance. Monitor expenses against budgets. Compile reports; establish, maintain, and supervise data collection systems in order to report program accomplishments to multiple funders and stakeholders. Evaluate effectiveness of programs. Utilize information to continuously improve results. Participate in jurisdictional applications and other fundraising activities.

Enrollment: Conducts prospective member tours, informational presentations and community outreach. Conduct new member assessments and ensure that member files are in full compliance with monitoring agencies.

Staff Management: Hire, train and supervise daily activities of staff. Provide coaching and mentoring of staff and others as needed. Conduct regular individual, team, and manager meetings. Conduct mid-year and annual reviews. Provide disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment. Monitor the training, orientation and development of staff.

Compliance and reporting: Ensure compliance with all relevant licensing and oversight agencies, including but not limited to DSS, CACFP, DARS, DMAS and VA. Complete required reports per deadlines.

Partnership Development: Build positive relations within the organization and external community partners. Collaborate with JABA departments, especially Community Center programming. Participate in community meetings. Network with community groups and organizations for purposes of program development and awareness raising. Manage outreach to the community and approved marketing plan.

Team Coordination: Create a working environment that inspires and supports excellence in all JABA programs. Encourage inter program collaboration and cooperation for daily activities. Coach all employees for success, regardless of department.

Maintaining Confidentiality: Prevent the unnecessary or accidental sharing of confidential and personal information by efficiently directing calls and visitors to appropriate staff with minimal information sharing.

Professional Development: Complete 12 hours of professional development/training annually. Ensure reporting staff are offered and complete professional development/training that encourages their professional and personal development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field with 5 or more years of experience.

  • Personal Care Training credentials required.

  • Master’s degree preferred.

  • Experience working with individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias strongly preferred.

Position Details

  • Full-time, primarily Monday–Friday; occasional evenings/weekends required.

  • Local travel required; occasional overnight travel possible.

  • Not eligible for remote work.

Work Environment

Employee works primarily in an office environment, this position also requires the employee travel by automobile and be exposed to changing weather conditions. The employee works in varied business and residential environments based on program needs.

  • This is a moderately active position.
  • During the course of the day the employee may lead activities, support staff with personal care activities, prepare and serve meals.
  • The employee is regularly required to participate in online and in person meetings and communicate effectively with team members, peers, and community partners.
  • Employee uses a computer extensively for data entry and other functions of the position.
  • Employee expected to maintain physical files and filing system.

Salary : $60,000 - $65,000
