About the Opportunity

An established energy infrastructure organization is seeking a Financial Reporting Analyst & Accountant to support both corporate accounting and financial reporting functions. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional looking to gain hands-on experience with financial reporting, month-end close activities, account reconciliations, regulatory reporting, and financial statement preparation within a complex corporate environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities

• Prepare and post journal entries and assist with account reconciliations

• Perform variance analysis and investigate account fluctuations

• Assist with preparation and review of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and statements of equity

• Perform footing, cross-footing, and detailed tie-out procedures on financial reports and disclosures

• Reconcile financial statement footnotes to supporting documentation

• Extract, organize, validate, and analyze accounting and financial data from various reporting systems

• Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for internal and external reporting requirements

• Assist with regulatory reporting and government filing requirements

• Support consolidation and intercompany accounting processes

• Prepare basic joint venture income statements and balance sheets

• Conduct research related to GAAP accounting guidance and reporting requirements

• Assist with internal control documentation, testing, and compliance activities

• Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency

• Support special projects and ad hoc financial analyses as needed

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• 1-2 years of accounting experience

• Understanding of financial accounting principles, including debits, credits, and trial balances

• Experience supporting financial statement preparation

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a deadline-driven environment

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Effective written and verbal communication skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Oracle, Workiva, or similar ERP/reporting platforms

• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills

• Experience with month-end close processes and journal entry preparation

• Experience with account reconciliations and financial analysis

• Exposure to consolidations and intercompany accounting

• Familiarity with regulatory accounting and reporting requirements

• Experience preparing financial statement disclosures, footnotes, and supporting schedules

• Exposure to technical accounting research and documentation

• CPA certification or progress toward CPA preferred
