Jaan Coffee & Teahouse is an upcoming specialty café bringing together authentic tea traditions, handcrafted beverages, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Tea Specialist / Chai Artisan who understands the art of preparing flavorful, aromatic, and authentic teas.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of traditional and specialty teas, including karak chai, masala chai, Adeni chai, Yemeni milk tea, and other international tea varieties.
- Understand tea brewing techniques, spice combinations, milk ratios, temperatures, and steeping times.
- Develop and consistently follow recipes for hot and iced tea beverages.
- Prepare tea concentrates and batches while maintaining freshness, quality, and consistency.
- Assist with developing new and seasonal tea recipes.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards.
- Work collaboratively with baristas and other café team members.
- Assist with customer service and other café operations as needed.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience preparing authentic chai and specialty teas.
- Strong understanding of tea leaves, spices, brewing techniques, and flavor profiles.
- Ability to prepare beverages consistently during busy hours.
- Creativity and passion for experimenting with tea flavors.
- Experience in a café, teahouse, or restaurant preferred.
- POS Familiarity is required
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends.
- Knowledge of Pakistani, Indian, Middle Eastern, or other traditional tea preparations is a plus.
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
