Job Summary:
The Accounting Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. This role involves supervising accounting staff , maintaining financial records, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The Sr. Accounting Supervisor plays a crucial role in streamlining processes, enhancing efficiency, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of accounting professional, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations
- Assign tasks and projects to team members, ensuring deadlines are met and work quality meets standards
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP/ IFRS
- Review and analyze financial reports, identify, and resolve discrepancies or issues
- Coordinate month-end and year-end closing processes
- Ensure proper maintenance and reconciliation of general ledger accounts
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing payment disbursement and collections
- Mange bank reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of any discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with state and federal financial regulations
- Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity
- Coordinate with external auditors and prepare necessary documentation for audits
- Assist in preparation of annual budgets, financial forecasts and annual standard cost update
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis
- Support management with financial planning and strategic decision-making
- Lead and participate in projects aimed at enhancing efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations
- Implement best practices and new technologies to streamline workflows
- Collaborate with other departments to support overall business objectives
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business growth and performance
- Other ad-hoc may be assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA or CMA certification preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2years in a supervisory role
