Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of job sites by setting up traffic control devices, barricades, and safety barriers to ensure smooth operations.
- Load, unload, and transport paving materials such as asphalt, gravel, and concrete using wheelbarrows, shovels, or small equipment.
- Operate basic tools and machinery under supervision, including rakes, shovels, tampers, and compactors to help lay asphalt evenly and efficiently.
- Follow safety protocols diligently to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and your teammates.
- Support the paving crew in spreading, leveling, and finishing asphalt or other paving surfaces to meet project specifications.
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area by removing debris and ensuring tools are stored properly after use.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to meet project deadlines while adhering to quality standards.
Experience
- Previous experience in construction or paving is preferred but not required; we welcome motivated individuals eager to learn.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting heavy materials and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to safety procedures and willingness to follow instructions carefully.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude that promotes teamwork.
