Responsibilities
- Operate horizontal directional drilling equipment with precision, ensuring accurate alignment and depth control for underground utility installations.
- Manage and operate a variety of heavy machinery including excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, and Caterpillar equipment to support construction activities.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on all machinery to guarantee optimal performance and safety standards.
- Assist in site preparation activities such as grading, excavation, and material handling using heavy equipment like loaders and graders.
- Collaborate with project managers and team members to plan drilling paths, troubleshoot technical issues, and adapt operations as needed for project requirements.
- Follow all safety protocols and construction site regulations to maintain a secure work environment for yourself and colleagues.
- Document operational activities, equipment usage logs, and safety checks accurately throughout each shift.
Experience
- Proven experience operating horizontal directional drilling machinery in a construction or utility installation setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, and tankers.
- Demonstrated ability to work safely on construction sites with a focus on safety procedures and hazard awareness.
- Prior experience with construction projects involving paving, horizontal drilling techniques, or underground utility installation is highly desirable.
- Valid commercial driver’s license with experience driving heavy equipment such as dump trucks or water trucks is preferred.
- Knowledge of Caterpillar machinery operation and maintenance is a plus.
- Familiarity with construction site protocols including site layout, safety standards, and environmental considerations.
