$16/hour base $40 per appointment 1% of every job that closes. Paid weekly.
You knock doors in Fort Wayne neighborhoods after a storm, talk to homeowners about free roof inspections, and book appointments for our inspectors. That’s the job. You don’t sell the roof, you don’t price anything, and you don’t close the deal — you set the appointment and get paid.
We’re a family-owned Fort Wayne contractor that’s been here since 1987. Not a storm-chaser outfit that shows up after hail and disappears. That matters when you’re standing on someone’s porch.
How you get paid
This is a base plus bonus structure, not straight commission. You earn money for showing up, and you earn more when you produce.
- $16.00 per hour base — paid for every hour you’re in the field, appointments or not
- $40 for every qualified appointment that actually happens (homeowner is home, owner-occupied, our inspector gets on the roof)
- 1% of the total job value on every appointment you set that turns into signed work
- Paid every Friday. No 30-day waits, no chargebacks on your base.
What that actually looks like: a canvasser working 30 hours a week and setting 6 kept appointments earns $480 base $240 in appointment bonuses = $720 for the week, before any commission. When one of those turn into signed roofs, a $12,000 job pays you another $120 on top. Uncapped — set more, earn more.
The schedule
- Roughly 25 – 40 hours per week, your choice
- Best hours are afternoons and early evenings when homeowners are home, plus Saturday mornings
- Heavier hours right after a hail or wind event — that’s when the money is
- Flexible around school, a second job, or family
What we’re looking for
- You’re comfortable talking to strangers
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
- Able to walk neighborhoods for several hours in Indiana weather
- 18 or older
- Smartphone for logging doors and appointments
No experience required. We’ll train you. If you’ve done door-to-door, canvassing, solar, pest control, retail, restaurant, or any commission sales, you’ll pick this up fast.
