What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Equipment /Shop Supervisor (5+ years experience) position at J Severino Construction?
J Severino is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Shop/Road Mechanic to repair, trouble shoot, perform maintenance on heavy equipment including bulldozers, excavators, rollers, dump and articulating trucks.
Position requires a team member that is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and capable of multi-tasking, while maintaining quality and safety standards. Ability to perform physical requirements of the job, including, but not limited to lifting, climbing, being on your feet for extended amounts of time are needed. As workload dictates, some overtime (including weekends) will be required. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, insurable driving record, and be willing to work and perform other construction activities as needed.
Job requirements
- Work with the owners, project superintendents and foreman to effectively bring downed equipment back on line in a timely manner.
- Represent the company’s best interest in dealing with vendors and suppliers
- Perform repair and maintenance of heavy equipment in a safe manner.
- Service equipment per company maintenance schedules.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues and make necessary repairs, adjustments or replacements.
- Develop task specific plans and be involved with repair means and methods.
- Perform emergency repairs on breakdowns.
- Inspect, lubricate, and service equipment.
- Check, fill, and/or change appropriate fluids for all equipment parts and check/change filters.
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair equipment systems, such as electrical, hydraulic, suspension, air, and brake systems.
- Ensure all safety devices on equipment are in good working order.
- Perform routine welding repairs to equipment.
- Perform routine housekeeping duties related to materials, tools, shop, and work areas to maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with company and OSHA standards
- Must have a valid driver’s license, insurable driving record, and be willing to work and perform other construction activities as needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
