Commercial Lines Account Manager

Full-Time / Artesia, New Mexico (Remote, or in-person)

J. S. Ward & Son, Inc, an Independent Insurance Agency located in Artesia, New Mexico is seeking insurance professionals who will focus on providing services to businesses in the Southeastern NM and West Texas area. Working closely with the Insurance Producer (Salesperson), the Account Manager should be comfortable managing an assigned book of business, ensuring account retention and supporting new business growth. The role requires attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Provide support to assigned Producer(s) and their book of business / customers.
• Client Relationships – assist clients with all policy and coverage questions.
• Maintain client files in Vertafore AMS360 according to agency standards.
• Assist in marketing new and renewal business under the direction of the Producer.
• Make recommendations for coverage enhancements and identify and develop cross-selling opportunities.
• Manage Renewal Process including ongoing communication with underwriters.
• Create and maintain strong relationships with insurance carriers and clients.
• Manage invoicing and account receivables.
• Initiate, maintain and complete claims process for customers as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

• 3-7 years of related Account Manager experience.
• Must hold a valid Property & Casualty Insurance License.
• Experience with Vertafore / AMS360 a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Positive Attitude and willingness to work on a team.
• Conflict Resolution skills with ability to influence decisions and gain support.
• Operates well in a fast-paced work environment.
• Superior Customer Service Attitude

SALARY RANGE:

The expected pay range for this position is $55-80K annually with an opportunity for growth depending on Production growth, experience, relevant skills, and geographic location.
