Senior Accountant
J&S Rodriguez Corp is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing team. This role will play a key part in managing the company’s financial processes, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and supporting operations across multiple family-owned entities, including a real estate company, plumbing, HVAC, electrical services, and new residential construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes across multiple entities
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements
- Oversee and support Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions
- Maintain and ensure accuracy of the general ledger for all companies
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to ownership and management
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management across entities
- Coordinate and support audits and compliance requirements
- Ensure proper financial tracking for real estate holdings and construction projects
- Identify and implement process improvements within the accounting function
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3 years of accounting experience (senior-level preferred)
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles
- Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple entities and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in construction, real estate, plumbing, HVAC, or service-based industries
- CPA or CPA-track is a plus
