We're hiring a Senior Accountant at J&S Accounting Solutions — and this is an ownership seat, not a seat-filler.
We're modern accounting for founders and creators who've outgrown spreadsheets and stress. Our clients are world-class athletes, content creators, and supplement, CPG, and wellness brands scaling from $100K to $1M . Their books look nothing like a standard small business — sponsorships, course launches, coaching programs, affiliate income — and that's exactly the work we love. We've laid the foundation — a standardized chart of accounts and a Canopy-driven workflow — and we're building a modern, automation-first stack on top of it: automating statement collection and using AI to streamline the monthly close. A big part of this role is shaping that build — you'll help choose the tools and take them from decision to fully operational.
In this role, you'll:
• Review every client's books and own getting them done — accurate, reconciled, and on time, across our entire client base. This is the heart of the role.
• Be the final word on quality before anything goes to the client
• Roll up your sleeves and prepare books yourself when a deadline's at risk or the team needs backup — this is a player-coach role, not pure oversight
• Lead and develop our prep team, in-house and remote
• Handle what needs handling and escalate the rest — flag anything that needs tax or advisory input to our tax team, and keep every file clean and tax-ready
• Help choose and integrate our toolstack — and take each tool from decision to fully operational
You're a strong accountant with 6 years of experience — ideally across multiple clients (public accounting or outsourced bookkeeping) — and you're ready to step into a leadership role. CPA preferred; experience with remote teams is a plus. You've got a process mindset and a tech-forward instinct, you like building and leading, and you're not above getting into the books yourself when it counts.
