Job Responsibilities & Duties
- Remove snow & ice in winters by plowing, snow blowing, shoveling, spreading salt, etc.
- Perform basic routine maintenance & repairs on building, machines, equipment
- Maintain stocks of cutter knives & screens
- Read and interpret manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance tasks
- Greasing of necessary equipment.
- Changing out of cutter knives,6 knife 12 knife, grinder, u-machine, condux
- Sharpening of cutters in mills
- Repair and replace cutter screens as necessary
- Basic plant maintenance
- Ability to follow written screen change , knifing sheets with minimal supervision
- Use of variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment
- Perform other related duties and assignments as directed by plant management.
- Strip and make cutter screens
- Run knife sharpener
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions for extended periods of time
- Ability to operate company owned equipment (mowers, plow truck, forklifts, man lifts, etc.)
- Ability to work at heights of 50’ on occasion
- Ability to work in confined spaces periodically
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
