Job Responsibilities
- Use sound judgement, planning skills & mechanical aptitude to lead Maintenance Department.
- Provide leadership in maintenance organization to achieve stated goals.
- Work with Operations Dept. to coordinate preventative maintenance & repair work to minimize downtime.
- Maintain spare parts inventory utilizing CMMS system, including ordering parts from domestic & international vendors.
- Manage maintenance budget.
Duties
· Provide direct, hands on supervision, technical direction, administrative management, and leadership in maintenance.
· Responsible for the management of equipment and maintenance.
· Supports maintenance and capital projects, maximizing asset reliability, uptime, and cost effectiveness with available resources.
· Provides support for the facility and equipment needs, including capital and major repairs.
· Supports predictive, preventative and corrective maintenance programs.
· Uses other maintenance disciplines in the development and application of reliability engineering, root-cause analysis and troubleshooting of equipment and processes.
· Coaches and develops training plans for hourly maintenance employees.
· Model, for the maintenance department, a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
· Establishes spare parts requirements, and maintain inventory levels utilizing CMMS software.
· Other duties as assigned
Minimum Job Requirements, Skills and Qualifications
· Background illustrates progressive maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
· Must have at least 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role.
· Exceptional mechanical skills / aptitude.
· Formal training or education in related field such as engineering, process control or reliability preferred
· Strong sense of urgency.
· Must be a leader with very good communication and organizational skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
· A strong working knowledge needed in equipment servicing as well as maintenance planning/scheduling in an industrial environment with a high level of automation and instrumentation.
· A solid /working knowledge is required in project management, industrial engineering, cost analysis and employee relations.
· Strong interpersonal communications such as recommending, directing, and influencing.
· Computer Maintenance Management Systems use and implementation (Maintimizer a plus).
· Able to perform maintenance math
Certifications/Licenses
Valid driver’s license (pre-requisite for forklift license and business travel)
Interactions and Tools/Equipment Utilized in the Job
· Work with Production, QA, Engineering & other departments as needed
· Work with teams at other JRS facilities as needed, with possible travel/stay on occasion
· Work with outside contractors as necessary to complete projects/tasks
· Operate company vehicles as needed (lift trucks, man-lifts, company cars, etc.)
· Accurately operate test & measurement equipment
· Utilize typical office equipment, i.e. computers, laptops, tablets, etc.
Physical Requirements
- Job requires frequent walking, climbing stairs & ladders, and standing for long periods of time, and occasional work at heights & in confined spaces.
- Job requires occasional work out of man lifts and on roof structures at elevations up to 60’.
- Job includes occasional exposure to weather in all seasons.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs on occasion.
- Job requires long periods of sitting, typing & viewing computer screen.
