Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Responsible for overseeing and supervising the activities of the housekeeping personnel to ensure the smooth flow of the housekeeping operations
- Plans and prepares the weekly schedule of the housekeeping personnel to ensure the proper overage is afforded daily based on projected hotel occupancy
- Makes necessary changes on the schedule to meet operational demands
- Enforces all company and departmental policies and procedures
- Issues counseling notices and/or disciplines employees who violate same
- Conducts daily inspections of hotel rooms and related areas to ensure that the set quality standards are maintained
- Coordinates and/or follows up requests for painting or repairs to be done in the guest rooms and other areas of the hotel with Maintenance
- Maintains and inventory of chemicals and supplies needed in the housekeeping department
- Makes requisition of the lacking items as the need arises
- Promotes positive customer service by assisting guests in addressing their complaints and resolving their problems
- Prepares and submits all required paperwork and reports of the department
- Trains all housekeeping personnel on both technical and safety procedures to be followed
Skills, Education and Other Requirements:
- Basic computer knowledge, phone etiquette and hotel housekeeping experience
- Experience in customer service and hotel industry required
- Must be fluent in English
- Spanish basics preferred
- Must have strong communication skills
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Work Experience
- 2 yrs hotel housekeeping with at least 1 year supervisory experience preferred
