What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hybrid: QA Automation Tester position at J-RAM IT Consulting Inc.?
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks using Java.
- Build and execute UI automation suites using Selenium WebDriver and Playwright (cross-browser coverage).
- Develop automated tests for:
- Web UI (functional, regression, smoke, cross-browser)
- API testing (REST services; functional & contract testing)
- Integration and E2E workflows
- Improve test reliability via:
- smarter waits/synchronization
- stable locators strategy
- reducing flaky tests
- parallel execution and test optimization
- Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
- Analyze failures, troubleshoot root causes, and collaborate with engineering teams on fixes.
- Maintain test reports and dashboards (e.g., Allure/Extent, CI reports) to track quality metrics.
- Contribute to test strategy, test data management, and quality best practices.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, code reviews, and quality gating.
Requirements:
- Experience in Java (Core Java, OOP, Collections, exceptions, design principles).
- Strong hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver (TestNG/JUnit, Page Object Model, robust locator strategies).
- Hands-on experience with Playwright (preferably Playwright Java; strong understanding of browser contexts, tracing, and network mocking as needed).
- Experience with test framework development (custom utilities, reusable components, reporting, retry, parallelism).
- Solid understanding of automation best practices (clean code, maintainability, modular design).
- Experience with Git and modern branching strategies.
- Experience with CI/CD and automated test execution pipelines.
- Understanding of SDLC/STLC, Agile/Scrum practices.
