Job Title: Accounting Assistant

Job Summary

J.R. Pierce Plumbing Co., Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our accounting department. This role assists with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting and administrative functions. The ideal candidate is organized, accurate, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, office-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Prepare, process, and track invoices, billing, and related documentation
• Support payroll activities, including timecard review and employee reimbursements
• Maintain accurate financial records and organized filing systems
• Enter and update data in accounting and ERP systems
• Communicate with internal departments and external vendors as needed
• Provide general administrative and clerical accounting support
• Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
• Basic understanding of accounting principles
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to follow established procedures and meet deadlines
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous accounting or bookkeeping experience
• Prior office or administrative experience
• Experience with accounting or ERP software
• Construction industry experience preferred but not required

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Office-based, onsite position (remote work not available)
• Full-time schedule: Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts
• Occasional lifting of office supplies

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
