What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production & Embroidery Technician position at J.R. Nelson & Company?
J.R. Nelson & Company is a small custom embroidery and apparel company located in Roseville, MN.
We're looking for a reliable, detail-oriented individual to join our production team. Prior embroidery experience is a plus, but we're willing to train the right person. Reliability, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn are more important to us than industry experience.
This position will work closely with our Director of Operations and has the opportunity to grow into a key role within our production department.
Responsibilities:
- Operate commercial embroidery equipment
- Hoop garments and prepare jobs for production
- Trim, fold, bag, and package completed orders
- Perform quality checks throughout the production process
- Assist with machine setup, thread changes, and production workflow
- Operate heat press equipment as needed
- Prepare orders for shipment and customer pickup
- Maintain a clean and organized production area
- Assist with additional production tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are required
- Strong attention to detail
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- Ability to prioritize tasks and stay productive in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 pounds
- Basic computer skills
Preferred Experience (Not Required):
- Embroidery production
- Apparel decoration
- Manufacturing or production environments
- Heat press operation
