Position Summary
Reporting to the Director, the HVAC Project Manager is responsible for delivering a large-scale multifamily project on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. This hybrid position requires a strong field presence as well as strategic office leadership to coordinate subcontractors, manage materials and schedules, and ensure project success through proactive risk and change management. The ideal candidate will have proven experience with VRV systems and high-end commercial projects, working directly with General Contractors to achieve exceptional results.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing complex multifamily HVAC projects involving tunnel form construction, VRV/VRF systems, DOAS, stair pressurization, CONO systems, and advanced field layout coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management
- Oversee the full lifecycle of a 2 year HVAC installation project
- Maintain ownership of scope, schedule, and budget for the project
Team & Trade Coordination
- Manage project schedules, prioritize tasks, and coordinate materials
- Collaborate with other trades to meet project milestones
Change & Risk Management
- Process RFIs, ASIs, and Change Orders in accordance with contracts
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to control costs and delays
Communication & Documentation
- Maintain consistent communication with the GC, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams
- Track project status, risks, and action items using project management tools
On-Site Leadership
- Provide strong field oversight; monitor material delivery, installation phases, and field coordination
- Identify issues early and resolve them to keep the project on track
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience managing HVAC projects in multifamily new construction, including large-scale/high-rise developments
- Hands-on experience with tunnel form construction methods and complex multifamily HVAC installations
- Experience with stair pressurization systems, CONO (corridor/outside air systems), and DOAS (Dedicated Outdoor Air Systems)
- Strong knowledge of HVAC installation processes, sequencing, and coordination with other trades
- Proficient in field layout tools and technologies used for HVAC installation, coordination, and project execution
- Hands-on experience with VRV/VRF systems and high-end commercial or multifamily projects
- Strong track record of collaborating effectively with General Contractors, subcontractors, and vendors
- Ability to manage project schedules, budgets, RFIs, ASIs, and change orders from start to finish
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with project management platforms and construction technology tools
- PMP certification, OSHA 30, or formal project management training (preferred)
- Technical or college education in construction, engineering, or related field (preferred)
