BIM and Technology Lead

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The BIM and Technology Lead is responsible for managing JRH’s BIM production, overseeing drafting standards, and implementing new technologies that improve efficiency, accuracy, and project delivery. This role supports both new building structural design and existing building investigation, preservation, and adaptive reuse projects. The ideal candidate is a motivated, forward-thinking individual who is excited to advance BIM workflows, support engineers in developing construction documents, and lead the firm in adopting emerging tools such as LIDAR scanning, digital collaboration platforms, and automation technologies.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in drafting, engineering technology, or related field (preferred)
- 2 years of experience in BIM modeling and structural drafting
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop Revit models and produce structural construction documents under the direction of project engineers.
- Manage JRH BIM and drafting standards, including reviewing project models for consistency and assisting with standard updates and rollout.
- Coordinate JRH structural models with other disciplines.
- Support engineers on existing building investigations, including developing models of existing structures from field data.
- Conduct LIDAR scanning or other digital documentation methods for existing buildings.
- Lead the evaluation and implementation of new technologies, including scanning, data processing, BIM automation, and digital workflows to increase efficiency and value.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives tied to drafting quality, technology integration, and project delivery.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.
- Interest or experience in LIDAR scanning, point cloud processing, and other digital capture technologies.
- Interest in automation tools and digital workflows; familiarity with scripting languages (such as Python or Dynamo) is a plus but not required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to research, learn, and implement new technologies and workflows.
- Client-focused mindset with the ability to develop positive working relationships.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
COMPENSATION
$70,000-$95,000 annual salary commensurate with experience, plus a competitive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plan with company matching, and professional development support.
