The Saw Operator at JP Steel plays a critical role in processing materials for our customers and overseeing the cutting department. The Saw Operator is responsible for the proper handling and cutting of a quality product that meets customer requirements. This position requires a detail-oriented, organized individual with excellent time management skills, a positive attitude, and a detail-oriented mindset. The ideal candidate will take pride in delivering high-quality work and engaging in a collaborative team environment.
Conceptual Competencies
Ability to understand and calculate fractions/decimals
Ability to learn how to operate various equipment (calipers, forklift, etc.)
Must be fluent in English
Working Conditions
Must be able to work in hot (90ºF ) environments for extended periods of time
Open to additional overtime hours as necessary
Essential Functions
Organize and prioritize daily tasks, adjusting plans as needed to meet production goals
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including proper PPE and safe equipment use.
Work seamlessly with other Operations roles to establish and maintain a safe and productive environment
Fill in for other operational roles as needed to ensure continuous workflow
