J P Mascaro & Sons is a locally owned and operated private family owned company who has been experiencing record growth and success. In 1964, it started with one truck. We have grown into one of the largest most successful fully integrated solid waste companies serving the mid-Atlantic area.
White Pines Landfill is looking for Full-time General laborers to help with our continued success and growth.
GENERAL DUTIES:
The statements herein are intended to describe the general nature of work performed by this position, and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties, and skills.
- Safely and efficiently perform assigned responsibilities
- Clean up work area
- Fuel vehicles and equipment
- Clean track on track type and related equipment
- Perform yard work, including mowing and paper pick up
- Operate general site vehicles and equipment.
- Direct traffic at the site as necessary in a polite and friendly manner
- Many opportunities for advancements. Training for equipment operator positions is available and a great experience for anyone looking to learn the trade.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to adapt to work environment and schedule
- Ability to follow through and solve problems as they arise
- Ability to follow company policy and procedures as set forth by the company
- Driver's license preferred
- Solid attendance is a must.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures
- May be exposed to solvents, chemicals and refuse
- May be exposed to other risks associated with working around machines, tools, and trucks
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to operate trucks and other equipment as needed
- Ability to frequently lift or carry containers, or loose materials; which may result in twisting, pulling, pushing and bending, depending on the material.
- Ability to climb, bend or stand for an extended period of time. In addition, individuals must be able to reach above shoulders and lift a minimum of 50 pounds
COMPENSATION: $10.00 - 12.00/HR
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS:
- No High School Diploma Required
