JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Hotel Driver provides safe, reliable, and courteous transportation for hotel guests while ensuring a positive first and last impression of their stay. This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and operational readiness of the hotel vehicle, assisting guests with luggage, and promoting the property and surrounding area through exceptional customer service.
The Van Driver plays a key role in creating a welcoming environment that reflects J&P’s commitment to Affordable, Clean, Safe, and Simple guest experiences.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Safely operate the hotel van or shuttle to transport guests to and from designated locations, such as airports, local businesses, attractions, and restaurants.
- Provide friendly, professional, and helpful service to all guests, ensuring timely pick-ups and drop-offs.
- Assist guests with loading and unloading luggage, packages, or other belongings in a safe and courteous manner.
- Maintain knowledge of hotel services, amenities, and local area attractions to answer guest questions and promote the property.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections (fuel, fluids, tires, lights, and general condition) and report any maintenance or safety issues immediately to management.
- Keep the vehicle interior and exterior clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
- Follow all traffic laws, hotel policies, and safety regulations, maintaining a valid driver’s license at all times.
- Log mileage, fuel use, and maintenance activity in accordance with company procedures.
- Assist the front desk or maintenance team as needed between scheduled runs, including guest deliveries, luggage storage, or small maintenance errands.
- Report any guest incidents, vehicle accidents, or unusual occurrences to the General Manager immediately.
- Conduct oneself with professionalism and courtesy, serving as an ambassador for the hotel and the J&P brand.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support property operations.

- Maintains a professional, guest-first attitude in all interactions.
- Ensures vehicle cleanliness, readiness, and on-time service at all times.
- Communicates effectively with hotel staff and leadership to coordinate schedules and guest needs.
- Supports hotel operations with flexibility and teamwork.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of professional driving, transportation, or customer service experience preferred.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and an acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR).
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger endorsement preferred, if required by vehicle size or state regulations.
- Knowledge of local area roads, airports, and major attractions preferred.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to lift and move luggage or items up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and drive for extended periods of time.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and composure under pressure.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license and meet all state/local driving requirement.
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check and, where required, a motor vehicle record (MVR) check and/or drug screen.
- Availability for varying schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on guest needs.
- Must be able to operate vehicles safely in various weather and traffic conditions.
- Must adhere to all J&P safety, grooming, and appearance standards.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
