Job Summary
J.P Callahan landscaping is looking to hire a full time employee for the fall/winter 2026 season and beyond! We are an 8 employee company located out of Auburn ma, we are looking for an individual that is looking to continue or start a career in landscaping. This is a unique place to work because there is room for growth and training. Winter hours around the garage are available, minor mechanical skill required for shop winter work. We have an extensive commercial snow route with hotels and condominiums being our strong point, we plow from first snowflake to last. Plenty Of hours and competitive snow pay. Responsibilities
- Assist with landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, edging, and pruning to keep grounds tidy and healthy.
- Operate groundskeeping and landscaping equipment such as power tools, lawn mowers, trimmers, and irrigation systems safely and efficiently.
- Identify plants, shrubs, trees, and pests to support proper horticultural practices and plant health.
- Support installation projects by digging, planting, mulching, and laying sod or seed.
- Maintain irrigation systems by inspecting for leaks or malfunctions and performing routine repairs or adjustments.
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all outdoor work activities to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Perform snow plowing or de-icing tasks during winter months to ensure safe pathways and parking areas.
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge for operating various landscaping tools and equipment effectively.
- Experience with landscape maintenance, groundskeeping, and lawn care techniques.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and landscaping equipment operation.
- Ability to identify plants accurately and understand basic horticulture principles.
- Knowledge of pesticide management practices for safe application when necessary.
- Familiarity with irrigation systems installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Strong outdoor work experience with an emphasis on safety protocol adherence.
- Ability to perform grounds maintenance tasks efficiently under various weather conditions.
