CEO-Independent Owned Residential Improvement

J Morrissey is conducting a CEO Search for our client, an independently owned and growing home renovation services with four locations in New England.

Responsible for the overall strategic direction, profitability, and operational efficiency of the business, with a focus on driving profitable growth within the home improvement market by setting long-term goals, managing key relationships with clients and contractors, and ensuring high-quality service delivery across all projects.

The ideal candidate will be a visionary with strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across executive teams to achieve corporate objectives. This position is responsible for creating and executing policies, strategies, and procedures to enhance market position, operational efficiency, and financial success.

Key responsibilities may include :

Strategic Planning :

Developing and executing a comprehensive business strategy to expand market share, identify new revenue streams, and adapt to industry trends within the home improvement sector.

Financial Management :

Overseeing the company's financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, profit analysis, and ensuring financial stability.

Operations Management :

Leading all aspects of project operations, including estimating, scheduling, quality control, and ensuring timely project completion.

Customer Acquisition and Retention :

Implementing marketing strategies to attract new customers, manage customer relationships, and maintain high customer satisfaction levels.

Team Leadership :

Building and managing a high-performing team of project managers, sales representatives, contractors, and administrative staff.

Business Development :

Identifying potential partnerships, exploring new market opportunities, and driving business growth through strategic acquisitions.

Compliance and Regulations :

Ensuring adherence to all relevant building codes, licensing requirements, and industry standards.

Market Analysis :

Staying informed about market trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies within the home improvement industry.

Account Management :

Building strong relationships with clients, suppliers, contractors, and investors.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

Proven Leadership Experience :

Bachelor Degree

Minimum 10 Years experience demonstrated success in leading and managing a team within the home improvement industry or similar.

Upholds the mission of integrity, teamwork, customer service and satisfaction, and continue to be recognized as the top leader in home improvement / remodeling industry.

Business Acumen :

Deep understanding of financial management, strategic planning, quality control, quality assurance, production efficiency and operational organization.

Construction Knowledge :

Comprehensive knowledge of Building, Materials, logistics or similar practices, project management methodologies, with industry experience from any of the following; home improvement, manufacturing, building, construction, logistics, building materials, household services or similar industries.

Sales and Marketing Expertise :

Proven experience with value added lines of growth and expansion. Effective at developing and executing effective sales and marketing strategies.

Customer Focus :

Strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and building client relationships.

Communication Skills :

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels.

CEO should have demonstrated the ability to be responsible for driving operational excellence through product, people, quality, and innovation standards.

Preferred applicants are executives with strong Executive growth and revenue generation who are interested in running a growing, profitable local home renovation business with the aspiration to double in operational and financial performance.
