Duties

• Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, inventory control, and cash handling to ensure smooth store functioning.
• Lead, supervise, and motivate retail staff by providing clear direction, coaching, and ongoing training to foster a high-performance team.
• Manage customer interactions with professionalism and enthusiasm, resolving issues promptly to ensure outstanding service and satisfaction.
• Coordinate merchandising efforts by organizing product displays, pricing strategies, and stock replenishment to maximize sales potential.
• Conduct interviewing, employee orientation, and onboarding processes to recruit talented team members aligned with company standards.
• Utilize POS (Point of Sale) systems for sales transactions, inventory management, and reporting to maintain accurate records.
• Implement marketing initiatives and promotional campaigns to boost store traffic and sales growth.
• Monitor inventory levels through inventory management systems; perform stock audits and control shrinkage effectively.
• Assist with budgeting, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and other administrative tasks to support operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies, phone etiquette standards, and organizational procedures at all times.

Experience

• Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles within a grocery store or similar retail environment.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with supervising experience in a fast-paced setting; ability to manage teams effectively.
• Strong communication skills in multiple languages or bilingual capabilities are highly desirable for diverse customer engagement.
• Proficiency in retail math, pricing strategies, sales management, and merchandising techniques.
• Familiarity with POS systems, inventory control tools, payroll processing, and basic bookkeeping practices.
• Experience in recruiting, training & development of staff, and conducting interviews is essential.
