Job Summary
The Bus Aide plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students during transportation to and from school or related activities. Duties
- Assist the bus driver in ensuring the safe boarding and disembarking of students.
- Monitor student behavior to maintain a safe and respectful environment during transit.
- Provide support to students with special needs, implementing behavior management strategies as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding any concerns or incidents.
- Administer first aid when required and ensure that all health protocols are followed.
- Help manage conflicts among students in a constructive manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized bus environment.
- Collaborate with teachers and special education staff to support individual student needs.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of special education practices and behavior management techniques is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
- A compassionate approach towards supporting students' diverse needs.
