Job Overview:
We’re seeking a motivated, hands-on IT professional to join our growing Information Technology team. As part of a small IT department supporting a manufacturing environment, you’ll work directly with the IT Manager to maintain and improve the company’s technology infrastructure. This position blends help desk support, network and systems administration, and hardware/software maintenance responsibilities.
This is an ideal role for a mid-level technician who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and being involved in all aspects of IT — from end-user support to network configuration and project implementation.
Responsibilities:
~User Support:
- Provide Tier 1–2 support for users across all departments.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, printer, and connectivity issues.
- Set up and configure PCs, laptops, mobile devices, and user accounts.
- Assist with onboarding/offboarding and user training.
~Network & System Support:
- Help manage switches, access points, and VLAN configurations
- Support network monitoring, backups, and disaster recovery testing.
- Maintain Active Directory, file shares, and Office 365 accounts.
- Assist with server maintenance, patching, and routine upgrades.
- Support VPN access and remote connectivity setups.
~Cyber Security & Documentation:
- Assist with implementing security best practices, updates, and monitoring tools.
- Help manage antivirus, MFA, and endpoint protection systems.
- Maintain IT documentation, network diagrams, and asset inventories.
~Project Support:
- Work with the IT Manager to roll out system upgrades, network expansions, or new equipment.
- Support ERP, CAD, and production software systems (e.g., SAP Business One, SolidWorks PDM).
- Collaborate with vendors and contractors when needed.
Qualifications:
~Education:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in IT, Networking, or related field or equivalent work experience.
~Experience:
- 2-5 years of experience in an IT support or systems/network technician role.
~Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory
- Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Familiarity with network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, APs)
- Experience with VPN’s, file servers, and backup solutions.
- Knowledge of PowerShell or scripting is a plus
~Preferred:
- Experience with manufacturing systems and ERP software (e.g., SAP Business One).
- Familiarity with networking, Windows Server, and virtualization platforms (VMware or Hyper-V)
- Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks.
