Job Title: CNC Machinist (Milling Specialist) 2nd Shift
Job Summary: We are an AS9100-certified job shop specializing in aerospace, defense, and medical products. We have an immediate opening for an experienced CNC Machinist with a strong background in milling (lathe experience is a plus). Our small, family-focused shop runs quick-turn, low-volume orders—often one to three pieces—of highly complex parts with tight GD&T tolerances. Proof of U.S. Citizenship is required.
Responsibilities:
- Setup & Operation: Perform frequent setups and teardowns in a job shop environment, including fixture design, tooling selection, and offset adjustments.
- Precision Machining: Accurately use dial indicators, edge finders, and other metrology tools to meet strict tolerances.
- Programming: Read and modify G-Code; program with Mastercam (multi-axis experience a plus).
- Process Knowledge: Understand rigid tapping, canned cycles, and Fanuc controls. Apply appropriate feeds, speeds, and cutting depths for various materials.
- Quality Assurance: Interpret and apply GD&T from blueprints; measure and inspect parts to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Collaboration: Work independently with minimal supervision while achieving on-time delivery and maintaining product quality.
- Workplace Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Requirements:
- Experience
- 10 years in a CNC job shop environment, specializing in milling
- Mastercam programming: 5 years (multi-axis preferred)
- Blueprint reading, GD&T, dimensional inspection: 10 years
- Aerospace CNC machining: 10 years
- Technical Proficiency
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls, rigid tapping, canned cycles
- Ability to design/build fixtures and choose proper tooling
- Proficiency in reading and editing G-Code
- Additional
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship
- Willing to work 40 hours per week plus occasional overtime as needed
- Strong communication skills in English (read, write, speak)
