Position Title: Construction Helper
The Construction Helper supports daily jobsite operations during all phases of construction. This is a temporary summer position paid hourly and is designed for individuals seeking to gain hands-on experience and develop skills within the construction industry. The Construction Helper performs assigned tasks under the direction of Superintendents and experienced team members while maintaining a strong focus on safety, teamwork, and productivity.
The ideal candidate is dependable, motivated, willing to learn, and able to follow instructions in a fast-paced construction environment.
Qualifications & Experience
Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation to and from jobsite
Entry level position in order to gain knowledge and skills.- Good listening skills and the ability communicate with coworkers.
A good team player, self-confident, motivated, and independent.- Capable of following instructions from Superintendents and experienced workers.
- Committed work ethic and alignment with company values.

Key Responsibilities
General Jobsite Support
- Assist with daily job site operations and construction activities
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Support coworkers with installation tasks and material handling
- Take initiative to assist team members and complete assigned duties efficiently
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements
Tools & Equipment
- Safely use basic hand tools and power tools
- Move, position, and climb ladders safely as needed
- Measure materials and distances using measuring tapes, squares, and other tools
- Cut or saw boards, timbers, and plywood to required sizes under supervision
Construction & Labor Tasks
- Perform general labor tasks in indoor and outdoor construction environments
- Dig post holes and assist with setting poles or supports for structures
- Smooth and sand surfaces to remove ridges, tool marks, glue, or caulking
- Inspect work areas and identify conditions requiring repair or attention
- Assist with loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials up to 50 pounds
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety standards
- Maintain awareness of surroundings and potential jobsite hazards
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
- Report unsafe conditions or incidents to supervision immediately
Additional Duties
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned
Physical Requirements
- This is a temporary summer position. Typical work hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; however, evening and weekend work may be required based on project needs.
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, kneel, squat, bend, and reach for extended periods of time
- Position requires physical activity throughout most of the workday
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to travel to multiple jobsites as needed
While performing the duties of this position, employees are regularly exposed to:
- Outdoor weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold
- Wet and humid environments
- Moving mechanical equipment and elevated work areas
- Dust, fumes, and airborne particles
- Loud noise levels common to construction sites
Employees may occasionally be exposed to:
- Vibrations
- Electrical hazards
- Toxic or caustic chemicals
Reporting Relationships
- Reports directly to the General Superintendent
- Interacts regularly with field staff, leadership, subcontractors, and vendors
- Serves as a professional representative of the company on all jobsites
