Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on various vehicle components including powertrain systems, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, and alignments.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized automotive repair tools to execute repairs efficiently and safely.
- Service vehicles by replacing parts, repairing engines (including diesel engines), and ensuring proper functioning of ADAS features such as lane departure warnings or adaptive cruise control.
- Interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems with precision.
- Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repairs clearly, estimating costs accurately, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete auto estimating tasks, and ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
Qualifications
- Proven dealership experience or extensive mechanic experience with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and repair.
- Knowledge of automotive electrical systems, schematics, ADAS technology, powertrain components, transmissions, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Hands-on experience with GM vehicles or similar brands is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic software used in automotive repair.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose issues efficiently.
- Service technician experience that demonstrates ability to handle complex repairs including diesel engine repair and wheel alignments.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
