Job Title: Assistant Project Manager
Location: Queens, NY
Salary: $55,000 – $65,000 per year
Company Overview
We are a growing construction company based in Queens, NY, specializing in public and private sector projects, including structural repairs, exterior LL-11 restoration, and large-scale renovations. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support our project team and help drive successful project delivery.
Position Summary
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) will support Project Managers in coordinating construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. This role involves managing documentation, assisting with scheduling and budgeting, and ensuring projects are executed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers in planning, coordination, and executing construction projects
- Review project drawings, specifications, and scope of work
- Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, and change orders
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and field staff
- Monitor project schedules and track progress against milestones
- Assist with cost tracking, budgeting, and procurement
- Conduct site visits to ensure quality control and safety compliance
- Maintain organized project documentation and reports
- Support project closeout, including punch lists and final documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (optional)
- 1–3 years of experience in construction or project coordination
- Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); Procore or similar software is a plus
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience with NYC construction projects (public or private)
- Knowledge of safety standards and construction regulations
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
