Responsibilities
- Safely operate end dump belly dump trucks, including tractor-trailers equipped with manual transmissions, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and company policies
- Load and unload various types of freight such as bulk materials, freight requiring flatbed or tanker handling, and refrigerated trailers when necessary
- Drive route schedules efficiently while maintaining awareness of traffic conditions and adhering to delivery timelines
- Conduct routine inspections of trucks before and after shifts, including checking hydraulic systems, brakes, lights, and tires to ensure optimal performance
- Assist with securing loads using appropriate equipment like forklifts or roll-off trucks when required for specific freight types
- Maintain accurate logs of mileage, fuel consumption, load details, and delivery documentation
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and warehouse personnel to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and any route adjustments
Qualifications
- Proven experience in truck driving, particularly with end dump belly dump trucks or similar heavy-duty vehicles
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements suitable for operating tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or refrigerated trailers
- Demonstrated proficiency in manual transmission operation and handling various freight types including freight requiring special equipment like forklifts or roll-off trucks
- Knowledge of load securing techniques and safety procedures related to dump truck operations
- Ability to perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks
- Prior experience with route driving and delivery logistics in a fast-paced environment is preferred
