Sales & Product Marketing Manager

Part-Time (Approx. 8:00am–3:00pm, Monday–Friday – 35 hours/week)

Hybrid: On-Site (Orange, CA) 1–2 Days/Week Remote

Reports to: Chief Product & Marketing Officer (CPMO)

 

OVERVIEW


J.L. Childress, a trusted family-owned brand celebrating 40 years of supporting parents with innovative and travel-friendly baby products, is seeking a part-time to full time Sales & Product Marketing Manager. This role is a unique combination of wholesale account management, Amazon marketing & operations support, ecommerce product merchandising and marketing, and hands-on product development support.

The ideal candidate enjoys both organized execution and creative marketing, feels energized by a small-business culture, and wants to see products come to life from concept through retail launch. You will work closely with the founding family and play a key role in growing our brands. 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


1. eCom Marketing & Product Merchandising

  • Manage and execute eCommerce Product Content* across all Retailers:
  • Branded carousel and feature images
  • Product descriptions, bullets, keywords
  • Brand messaging and storytelling
  • Managing 3rd party relationship with graphic designer
  • Initiating projects & maintaining timelines
  • Working with graphic designer on revisions
  • Maintaining brand style guide integrity throughout creative development
  • Collaborate with leadership on website updates and execute:
  • Quarterly marketing initiatives
  • Annual sales (i.e. BFCM, Anniversary, etc.)
  • Item page presentation


2. Amazon Marketing & Operations Support

  • Support ongoing Amazon efforts including:
  • PDP optimization
  • Content updates, imagery, A content
  • Monitoring retail health, reviews, etc.
  • Open and manage cases for:
  • Listing/content updates
  • Buy Box issues
  • Incorrect item mapping or retail discrepancies


3. Wholesale Sales & Account Management

  • Manage secondary retail relationships including: Macy’s, Nordstrom, Babylist, Kohl’s, and Off-Price Retailers
  • Serve as main point of contact for questions, onboarding, inventory updates, and product education
  • Support seasonal line reviews, new item launches, pricing, and promotions
  • Manage item and content health
  • Support primary retail relationships with Walmart & Target on an as-needed basis, assisting the Primary Retailer Account Lead
  • Identify and support new wholesale opportunities both domestically and internationally


4. Product Development Support

  • Manage product packaging creation
  • Apply packaging artwork templates to full item catalog 
  • Ensure accurate item details, UPCs, and branding
  • Manage ongoing product changes
  • Help Product Development lead monitor/track ongoing product updates
  • Support with asset edits, creation, and dissemination to Retailers
  • Support photography and (possibly) video production
  • Shot lists, samples, model coordination, on-site support and/or full management

 


PREFERRED BACKGROUND AND SKILLS


Experience

·      3 years in Sales, Marketing, or related role

·      Specific work in retailer eCom marketing & product merchandising required

·      Wholesale retail or ecommerce experience preferred

·      Experience with Amazon Vendor and/or Seller Central portals preferred

·      Familiarity working with/in graphic design apps such as Adobe Creative Suite and Canva

·      Familiarity working with/in ecommerce marketing apps such as Shopify and Klaviyo (email marketing)

·      Experience in a small or family-owned business highly valued

Technical Skills

·      Strong Microsoft Office / Google Suite skills

·      Familiarity with Amazon Vendor and/or Seller Central a strong plus

·     Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) ideal but not required

·      Canva ideal but not required

 Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred—Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field 



COMPENSATION


Salary Range:

  • Part-Time Schedule: $37-$43/hour, 35 hours/week
  • Additional Compensation Opportunities:
  • Performance bonus
  • Company-funded (SEP) retirement account up to 25% of salary in Year 3 of employment
  • Health/dental insurance not currently offered
