Responsibilities
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions, including cash handling, credit card payments, and mobile payments
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or demos
- Manage cash register operations, including balancing cash drawers at shift end and handling cash with precision
- Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance sales opportunities and improve customer satisfaction
- Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and assist with merchandising efforts to ensure an attractive shopping environment
- Maintain phone etiquette when answering customer calls or inquiries, ensuring clear communication and a professional tone
- Support product demos when needed to educate customers about new or featured items
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or convenience store environments is preferred; familiarity with grocery store operations is a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in bilingual settings (if applicable)
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations
- Knowledge of POS systems and cash register operations is highly desirable
