Summary
Mackenthun's Bakery/Deli Specialists are responsible for performing Bakery/Deli duties according to department standards and processes.
Understand and actively support Mackenthun's Exceptional Experience by greeting every customer and offering assistance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Bakery/Deli Specialists are expected to provide excellent customer service.
Take and fill Bakery and Deli orders.
Prepare hot and cold deli products and prepare bakery products
Package and label products.
Stock shelves and rotate products.
Responsible for following safe food handling guidelines, organization of the work area, and clean-up, including proper sanitation in the department.

Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications
Minimum High School Diploma or GED preferred but not necessary.
Previous Bakery and/or Deli experience preferred.
MN Food Manager Certification preferred; may be obtained after hire.
Be a positive and creative trend-setter with excellent customer service skills, problem solving, and decision making skills.
Must be honest and dependable.
Must be a self-starter, able to work independently and as a team member.
Must be skilled in basic math.
Must be able to clearly speak, read and write the English language.
Minimize department losses due to improper product handling, storage, damage and spoils.
Perform duties in a manner that safeguards company equipment, resources and image.
Provide supervision as needed to ensure excellent customer service and personal productivity.
Must have an interest in selling food and a desire to learn the characteristics and qualities of the products and services Mackenthun's has to offer, in particular Mackenthun's Signature items.
Physical Demands
Constant standing/walking/hearing and seeing for long periods of time.
Frequent bending at the waist, reaching with hands and arms, above shoulders/below waist, crouching/stooping/kneeling, climbing stairs, climbing ladders, lifting and carrying up to 60 lbs., pulling or pushing up to 2500 lbs. with use of pallet jack.
This position requires close/distance/peripheral vision, depth perception and color vision.

Work Environment
Must be able to work with and around machine noise in hot or cold temperatures, on terrazzo flooring in a smoke-free facility in a multifaceted and fast paced environment.
Exposure to cleaning chemicals.
