About the role

J.J. Kokesh & Son has been plumbing St. Louis since 1894. Our plumbers are union-trained and licensed for the work St. Louis County requires. The office is what keeps them moving — the schedule, the incoming calls, the permits, the invoices, the paperwork that has to be right.

We are looking for someone to own that. Not to help with it. To own it.

This is an in-person role. The office is small and this role can wear many hats. Some people find that energizing. If you are one of them, apply.

What you'll do

• Dispatch and run the daily schedule and dispatch our plumbers across St. Louis and St. Louis County, keeping drive time down and the board full
• Assure incoming calls are answered promptly, and be the person a homeowner remembers — calm, clear, and genuinely helpful on what is often a bad day for them
• Manage work orders, job notes, and service software so the crew shows up with the information they need
• Handle permits, licensing paperwork, and inspection scheduling
• Assigned office duties
• Follow up with customers after the work is done

What we're looking for

• 2 years running an office, dispatching, or heavy scheduling. Plumbing, HVAC, or electrical experience moves you to the top of the pile
• Required expertise in Google Workspace Suite – our office runs on this system and it’s highly integrated.
• Working knowledge of St. Louis, St. Louis County, and St. Charles County geography
• Comfortable with job management software, Google Workspace, and a multi-line phone system
• Organized under pressure. The person who writes it down, follows up, and closes the loop
• Warm on the phone. Our customers are our neighbors and they get treated that way

You do not need a plumbing background. We can teach you what a flange is. We cannot teach steady.

This is not a union position. J.J. Kokesh & Son is a union-affiliated company and our field plumbers are union members. This office role sits outside that agreement.
