The **Senior Financial Analyst** (SFA) will represent R&D finance in the Global Government Grant Office (G3O). G3O is a center of excellence established to help secure and maximize external funding and resource opportunities for Janssen, and to help to ensure consistency and compliance in contracts and grants across the organization.
The current scope of the SFA focuses on US Government grant programs through NIH, BARDA, and European based grant programs like VLAIO, IMI, IHI and Horizon Europe. The SFA should become the subject matter expert within JRD finance for government grants & contracts (requirements for proposals of potential new deals, reporting, audits, etc.). Currently, the main disease areas for the grants are Coronavirus (COVID-19), Ebola and Flu but expansion of the portfolio to other disease areas is very likely. Although the main areas of responsibilities will be to support Janssen contracts there will also be opportunities to support agreements in MedTech.
**Key Responsibilities of the Senior Financial Analyst G3O Finance include:**
Lead and perform the annual Incurred Cost Submission to the US Government
Support the financial end-to-end process for submitting new potential government grants and associated contracts
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of external reporting requirements for government grants
Participate in shaping processes to optimize structural solutions (system-based) to support reporting and ongoing compliance
Provide leadership to standardize different methodologies for various grant programs
Provide leadership during various audits (internal and external)
Provide financial leadership supporting possible expansion towards other sectors within J&J and other geographical locations
Ad hoc projects
**Qualifications**
A minimum of bachelor's degree is required, preferably with an area of study in finance, economics, or accounting.
A master's degree is preferred.
A minimum of 3 years finance or related business experience is required.
Experience with government contracts is preferred.
Knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) is preferred.
This position requires a highly motivated individual with strong analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, and proven leadership skills.
Must possess an analytical approach to thinking and working through complexity, required.
Must be able to work independently in a very dynamic, complex, and global business environment, required.
Must be proactive and have a result-oriented mindset, required.
Must be able to continuously challenge the status quo and provide recommendations for finance and business improvements, required.
Strong influencing & communication skills are required; Possess the ability to get the message across effectively and respectfully.
Skilled at using advanced Microsoft packages: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook is required.
SAP and TM1 knowledge are preferred.
This role has a preferred location in Spring House, PA, but consideration will be given to other J&J Janssen sites in Titusville, NJ, Raritan, NJ or Beerse, Belgium. This position may require up to 10% travel.
The base pay range for this position is $102,000 to $117,300.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.
