Description of Work
The Behavior Analyst position provides behavior analysis and support services for a residence in one of three neighborhoods at the Center for around 25 residents living in that home with significant intellectual disorders and related developmental disabilities, such as autism spectrum disorder, and many with significant behavior disorders and psychiatric diagnoses. The Behavior Analyst provides services including providing functional behavior assessments and functional analyses; planning, developing and evaluating training and treatment programs, some of which contain protective and/or restrictive procedures or the use of medication for behavior management that require due process approval with the human rights committee; and participation in interdisciplinary team processes that may include leading discussions using data to guide teams in decisions regarding behavior support planning, training and treatment.
In addition, the Behavior Analyst position is regularly involved in training of direct support and paraprofessional staff. The Behavior Analyst performs job duties under appropriate supervisory coordination and clinical supervision.
Psychology staff are assigned to residences and work as members of interdisciplinary teams. The Behavior Analyst positions work within a department of I7 clinicians and an administrative support staff. The Psychology Department has monthly meetings of staff to review current assessment and treatment literature in behavior analysis and intellectual disorders and to review individual cases before the clinical staff.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
OR
Currently enrolled in a Verified Course Sequence recognized by the Association for Behavior Analysis International and supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
OR
Bachelor's degree with certification as a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst with at least two years of experience.
