What are the responsibilities and job description for the Process Server position at J.I.S PRIVATE INVESTIGATIONS?

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering legal documents promptly and accurately, ensuring that court orders, subpoenas, and other official notices reach their intended recipients. This is a paid position offering an excellent opportunity to work closely with legal professionals and investigative teams. Candidates who hold a Texas Private Investigator license are preferred. However, individuals who are not currently licensed but are interested in becoming licensed will be assisted through the licensing process. Process Server certification is required.
Duties
Effectively locate and serve legal documents to individuals or entities involved in court cases
Follow all jurisdictional requirements and service procedures to ensure proper and lawful delivery
Maintain accurate and detailed records of each service attempt, including dates, times, locations, and outcomes
Timely file proofs of service and related documentation with appropriate courts or agencies
Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, attorneys, and court personnel regarding service status or issues encountered
Navigate various neighborhoods efficiently while maintaining situational awareness and personal safety
Handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism at all times
Requirements
Process Server certification is required
Texas Private Investigator license is preferred but not required. Assistance with obtaining a PI license is available for qualified candidates
Prior experience as a process server, courier, or delivery driver is strongly preferred
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere strictly to legal procedures
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required
Basic familiarity with court systems, legal filings, or governmental procedures is preferred
Ability to work independently with a proactive and problem-solving mindset
