JH Rhodes Company, a polishing pad manufacturer with over 120 years of polishing expertise. We are committed to supporting the leading-edge capabilities of our customers. We are seeking to fill two Production Operator I (Mixers) positions to our growing team. The successful candidates will learn to prepare and mix raw materials used in the production of polyurethane cakes for industrial polishing pad manufacturing, while ensuring compliance with established formulations, quality standards, and safety procedures.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To be able to perform this function successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Measure and prepare raw materials according to established formulations and the production mix schedule.
  • Mix raw materials in accordance with approved work instructions, formulas, and operating procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the mixing area and related equipment.
  • Communicate production status, material concerns, and process issues to the Supervisor.
  • Work safely and effectively while wearing required personal protective equipment, including a respirator.
  • Monitor and maintain raw material inventory levels.
  • Assist in cross-functional operations by training and supporting other production areas as needed.
  • Operate equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform the essential duties of this position.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and maintain accurate production records.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written work instructions and procedures.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and perform basic equipment adjustments.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to gather and interpret information in situations requiring sound judgment and problem solving.
  • Forklift operation experience preferred.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Strong attendance and reliability record.
  • Six to twelve months of manufacturing experience preferred.

This position regularly requires exposure to manufacturing conditions, including but not limited to heat, cold, dust, noise, dirt, and hazardous raw materials. Employees are required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including respirators, as necessary.

Physical demands include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Standing for extended periods
  • Lifting and carrying materials up to 70 pounds
  • Walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, twisting, pushing, and pulling
  • Reaching, hearing, speaking, and writing

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
