Pet Care Specialist

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pet Care Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals and the ability to provide exceptional care for pets in various settings. This role involves ensuring the well-being of animals, maintaining a safe environment, and delivering outstanding customer service to pet owners.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care for pets, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
• Administer medications and follow specific care instructions as directed by pet owners or veterinarians.
• Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to management or veterinary staff.
• Assist with dog training sessions and behavioral assessments when necessary.
• Maintain cleanliness in all animal areas, including kennels, grooming stations, and play areas.
• Engage with pet owners to provide updates on their pets’ well-being and address any questions or concerns.
• Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to ensure their comfort and safety during care procedures.
• Support veterinary staff by assisting with examinations and treatments as needed.

Experience
Candidates should possess a combination of the following skills and experiences:

• Dog training experience is highly desirable.
• Background in veterinary care, including veterinary technician or assistant experience.
• Proficiency in dog handling and animal restraint techniques.
• Experience in pet grooming or pet sitting is a plus.
• Familiarity with kennel operations and animal care best practices.
• Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners.
