Your role will not only involve walking dogs but also building strong relationships with both pets and their owners.
What you’ll do
- Take dogs on invigorating walks, ensuring they receive ample exercise and mental stimulation.
- Monitor each dog’s behavior and health during walks, reporting any concerns to pet owners.
- Provide basic training commands to enhance obedience and reinforce good behavior.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for all pets in your care.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners about their dog's needs and preferences.
- Assist in pet sitting duties when needed, providing care in the owner's absence.
- Handle various breeds with confidence, utilizing your dog handling skills to ensure safety.
- Collaborate with the team to develop best practices for pet care and customer service.
Experience
- Proven experience in dog handling or animal care is essential.
- Background in veterinary assistance or as a veterinary technician is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with animal restraint techniques to ensure safety during walks is a plus.
- Experience in pet grooming or kennel management will enhance your candidacy.
- Strong customer service skills to build rapport with pet owners and address their needs effectively.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, as some dogs may require assistance getting into vehicles or navigating stairs.
