Reports To: Campus Leader Work Location: JH Knox Intermediate, Salisbury, NC FLSA Status: Exempt 10-month employee Position Purpose The CTE Computer Science Teacher is responsible for designing and delivering engaging, rigorous, and career-connected instruction in computer science and information technology aligned to the North Carolina Standard Course of Study and CTE Computer Science/IT pathways. At J.H. Knox Intermediate, this role plays a vital part in bringing the school’s mission — “Engaged Today. Transforming Tomorrow.” — to life by ensuring students experience learning that is relevant, innovative, and connected to real-world applications and future careers. Plan and deliver standards-aligned instruction in computer science, coding, digital literacy, and computational thinking. ? Integrate real-world applications, career exploration, and problem-solving into all learning experiences. ? Develop and implement assessments that measure student growth and promote reflection and iteration. ? Differentiate instruction to meet diverse academic, technical, and social-emotional needs. Career-Connected & Technology Integration ? Provide instruction in areas such as programming, computer applications, cybersecurity basics, and digital citizenship. ? Integrate industry-relevant tools, platforms, and technologies into instruction. ? Collaborate with the Career-Connected Learning (CCL) Team to design authentic experiences such as projects, guest speakers, and partnerships. |
