Duties
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, and transmissions using schematics and specialized diagnostic tools.
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, suspension checks, and air brake system servicing to maximize equipment uptime.
- Repair and overhaul construction machinery, farm equipment, excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and other heavy equipment with precision and attention to detail.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding and hand tools to ensure proper fitment and functionality.
- Troubleshoot complex equipment issues including electrical diagnostics, hydraulic leaks, powertrain problems, and HVAC systems to identify root causes swiftly.
- Maintain detailed service records for all repairs performed; interpret schematics and technical manuals for accurate repairs.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks and perform equipment assembly or disassembly during repairs or upgrades to ensure safety standards are met.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic with dealership experience preferred; strong mechanical knowledge across heavy machinery and automotive repair is essential.
- Proficiency in electrical diagnostics, schematics interpretation, equipment troubleshooting, and diesel engine repair techniques.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic software to perform precise repairs.
- Knowledge of construction machinery maintenance including excavators, cranes, loaders, forklifts, and other industrial equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working in various environments; familiarity with heavy equipment operation is a plus.
- Certification or training in diesel engine diagnostics, air brake systems, hydraulics or HVAC systems is highly desirable.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with team members and clients about repair needs and solutions.
