We are seeking a Safety Manager to join our team and oversee onsite safety practices on HVAC and plumbing job sites. This role is critical in ensuring a safe working environment for all team members, supporting project delivery, and upholding Feldkamp Mechanical’s strong reputation for jobsite safety, quality, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion Feldkamp’s safety culture across HVAC and plumbing job sites.
  • Implement and maintain site-specific safety programs aligned with company policies and project scopes.
  • Conduct safety orientations for all new hires and ensure site compliance with PPE standards.
  • Lead daily site safety walks to identify and address hazards, reinforce safe behaviors, and document both positive and at-risk observations.
  • Perform regular site audits, write detailed reports, and follow up to confirm corrective actions are completed.
  • Maintain and manage jobsite safety documentation, including SDS, inspection logs, and equipment checklists.
  • Stay current on local, state, and federal safety regulations affecting construction operations.
  • Provide coaching and support to foremen, superintendents, and field staff on safety expectations.
  • Collaborate with project management to develop and maintain emergency response and crisis management plans.
  • Coordinate with HR on post-incident procedures, including investigations and drug/alcohol testing.
  • Support OSHA inspection readiness and assist during any site visits by regulatory agencies.
  • Manage and review Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and ensure they are completed for applicable tasks.
  • Participate in project planning to ensure safety is integrated into schedules and milestones.
  • Communicate with general contractor or owner representatives regarding safety expectations and compliance.
  • Attend start-up, close-out, and progress meetings as required to represent safety interests.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by soliciting feedback and sharing lessons learned.
  • Train and assist field personnel in key areas such as fall protection, trenching and excavation, and HAZCOM.
  • Utilize Procore (or similar platforms) to log safety records, observations, and incident reports.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of safety management experience in construction (mechanical/HVAC/plumbing experience preferred).
  • OSHA 510 certification required; OSHA 500 preferred.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certified.
  • Additional safety certifications in areas such as Fall Protection, Scaffolding, or HAZCOM are a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead, influence, and build trust with field teams.
  • Ability to travel to jobsites and work extended shifts as needed.
  • Physically able to navigate active construction sites, including stairs, ladders, and uneven surfaces.
  • Familiarity with Procore or similar construction management software is preferred.
  • BCSP certification or other nationally recognized safety credential is a plus.
